The Gospel is the good news that God loves you and has made a way for you to know Him. God created us to live in relationship with Him. He is holy, perfect, and full of love. But we have all turned away from Him. The Bible says:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23

Our sin separates us from God. No amount of good works, religious effort, or personal improvement can bridge that gap. We are unable to save ourselves. But God, in His great love, did what we could never do; He sent His Son, Jesus Christ — fully God and fully man — to live the perfect life we could not live, and to die the death we deserved. On the cross, Jesus took the punishment for our sin upon Himself. Three days later, He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death forever.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.”

“Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

This is the Gospel — the good news:
Jesus has done everything necessary for us to be forgiven and restored to God. How do we receive this gift? The Bible is clear that we receive this gift of salvation by turning to God and placing our trust in Jesus Christ alone.

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
— Romans 10:9-10

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
— Ephesians 2:8-9

“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.”
— Acts 16:31

“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
— John 1:12

“Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.”
— Acts 3:19

“But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe:”
— Romans 3:21-22

It is not about trying harder or being good enough. It is about trusting what Jesus has already done for you.

A simple prayer of response:
If this is the desire of your heart, you can speak to God right now:“Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins and rising again. I turn from my sin and place my trust in You alone as my Savior and Lord. Please forgive me, come into my life, and make me new. Amen. ”If you prayed that prayer and meant it, the Bible says you have been saved by God’s grace through faith. Welcome into God’s family.
